Pretender Recovery
My rainbow pretender died (long story). So she lost one level in every area of magic. Besides empowerment and boosting items is there a way to bring her back to her former glory? The only thing I hold out hope for is the elixer of life which has a listed affect of "restoration."

You can Wish (Alt 9, 100 astral perls) for "magic power" IIRC, it will give you one point back in each!! path of magic, not only in the path you had (Beware if you Hadn't astral before)

Pretty hard to cast Wish without having any astral before, eh? But yes, that IS powerful. In fact, you don't just get those magics *back*. The game only keeps book of what is, not what was. Even if you had a pretender who never had had any other magics besides astral, and wished for magic power, you would now have gotten 1 point in every magic! It can be casted multiple times, but never rises level above 10. Items and empowerment ( if someone has the gems) can rise it even above that...

Re: Pretender Recovery
I don't think there is any way to restore the magic levels that your Pretender has lost. I can't remember exactly what the Elixir of Life does, but I'm sure that restoring lost magic isn't it.

Items and empowerment ( if someone has the gems) can rise it even above that... you should once wish for power too . this helps the surviveability of your pretender greatly too . does anyone know if this works several times or does it only work 1 time i never tried it so far several times
does armaggedon affect only your opponents or your own troops too ?
that you lose 1 in each path is why i still like the vq . if you are careful you will always die only in friendly dominion .
if you take a weaker rainbow chassis like a crone and so on i think even if you use them only for site searching , forging and casting there's a quite high chance that you lose your pretender either through a seeking arrow attack or misfortune and a random e.g. barbarian attack in the province in which you are sitesearching .

Re: Pretender Recovery
That a pretender chassis is weak does not mean that he should wander around all alone! Simple Robe of Missile Protection will stop Seeking Arrows, some bodyguards wil atleast give him time to retreat, AND will protect him in the case of assasinations. Sneak -ability comes handy too, atleast one of the druids has it.
