Default Leaders and leadership-suggestion

(as usual - hope this isn't in a buried thread somewhere) One distinction I see lacking in the leadership is that a great general is not the same as a great leader. What I mean is that the current leadership description is for there to be only numbers of troops controlled by the leader as the trait. While this is fine for the distinction between a wizard and commander, there should be more to it than this. I was thinking that the number of options open to a leader be a reflection of some level of generalship.

For example: a wizard has three options - retreat, shoot, advance for the troops under him. His own list of options is the same as before.

Now, a commander who has been trained from a early age to lead troops might have all the present options of hold and attack, fire on X, etc.

If this is possible at all, then expanding the list of options for a "great general" might work out. Add a "Formations" options for the troops under his control. A front X x Y deep for a formation, or a square (hollow style) with missile troops inside. Maybe a "Turtle Sq" option. Or even a "These guys can hold a formation when moving" - although that's an issue I think should be tied to the morale/experience of the troops as well as the commander's skill.

Perhaps this would choke the AI but it would add another level of richness to the command interface for combat. At another level, the various descriptions of some of the heros beg for such a distinction for this trait.

Good idea, but it's probably too complex to go in a Dominions 2 patch/expansion. Don't be surprised if you see this in a Dominions 3, though
