Newbie Q's. Please help

I am playing 2 games at the same time. I go from Abyssia to Jotun and have played 25 or so turns in each. I have yet to have a single good or bad event. I saw the list in the FAQ and some are damn nice.

Is it possible that I got one but it didn't appear in the Messages. COuld it have been filtered out or would it definitely appear in Messages??

Also, how do I assign bodyguards to commanders. I know the max is 5 per commander.

Usually, they cause more harm than good, even on balance. However, it seems very unlikely that you haven't gotten any in either nation over 25 turns - most of them are stuff like having units cursed by a witch, or finding magic gems, or having brigands raise unrest... You sure you haven't seen any of these?

taking Order scales does reduce the chance of getting an event, but usually they are still fairly common.

as to bodyguards, make them into a squad under the commander's control, and then assign them to "guard commander" under the list of actions (where you choose "attack" "fire" and the like)

Do you have a high order setting? Higher order = less events.

You can assign as many units as your commander can lead to guard. Just in an assassination attempt only 5 will fight with him or 10 if he wears a ring of warning.
