Hmmm havent seen a Geek Code sig in a long time. Id post mine but Im sure its years out of date.
Kinda hard to give ideas without more info. Just in general Id say try playing Ulm against Man, Pangaea, and Ctis. Pretty good starter game. Set the independents to 5 or 6 and it will slow the AI abit

Re: Nutz.......
Play mostly as Astrophel (sp) (like the priestess' heal). Lately as Ermor (undead?)...
Just learning....I tend to get wrapped up in battles and forget the other things like making items and such..
Hehe, as for the Geek code...that's from the Space Empires 4 forum....

Re: Nutz.......
Pathfinder,
As a semi-newb (at least I can now hold my own against normal AIs) I suggest you focus on a "set" of summons. One of the things I eventually learned is that you need a source of troops that doesn't cost you gold to keep up with the CPs.
I started with something simple and I suggest you do the same. Pick a nation with nature magic (Pangaea, for example)and make some Ivy Crowns, then have several mages cast Awaken Vine Men (and later Vine Ogre). They are relatively cheap summons for what you get.
Alternatively, try playing R'lyeh. You'll mostly be left alone until you want trouble. Ermor and Atlantis will come after you, but if you don't put them in the game you can grow relatively unmolested. Be sure to go to Sunny's site (you can get there from illwinter.com) and check out his advice on who to send to the Void Gate.
Hope this helps,
V'ger gone
