Might be you took Turmoil (which increases probability of events), or perhaps somebody's hitting you with spells (a number of spells cause specific bad events or increase misfortune).
Order is coupled with event probability by default. Normally I play with Poger's luck-scale mod which decouples them (e.g. order/turmoil only affects economy, luck has greater effect on both frequency and goodness of events).
