Default Full Version Bug List

Great Game so far - been playing non-stop (well almost) since 5pm Friday. So far I have noticed the following bugs/features. If it is a new bug, I will forward a saved game to MM.

(1) Fighter and satellite Groups seems to be a little too fragile (one meson bLaster lv 1 took out entire flight of 10??)

(2) Computer weapon platforms containing lv 2 plasma missile firing every turn instead of every other turn (good thing I had some Aegis cruisers around!)

(3) Having similar problems with music as everyone else, except mine hasn't kicked in yet even though I switch it on several hours ago.

(4) One computer missile lv 1 took out 15 weapon platforms on one of my planets. This may be related to a unit damage problem also referenced in 1 above.

(5) My urban pacification centers lv 1 do not seem to have any effect.

As far as gameplay goes, seems to combine some of the best elements of SMAC, MOO, IG2, et al. Well done!

1 and 4 are related to a known bug I hope they've got fixed in 1.05 or whatever they're running now. Certainly in time for the upcoming patch, in any case.

In a nutshell, if units lack shielding, the whole stack is bLasted when the first one goes. If they do have shielding, then things go as they should.

For #2, yeah, sounds like a bug! Are you sure though that the same plasma missile launcher is being fired? IOW, could they be firing half every turn instead of all every other turn?

This seems like a good place for a feature request....

SEIV crashes on me periodically; I'm not sure it's entirely its fault (other things happen on this machine; it's our the internet connection machine for our home LAN, among other things). However, when it does, I find that the "resume game" feature always sets me back a number of turns.... to my Last savegame.

Feature Request: Give me to option to tell the game to save the game to a file (autosave.gam?) every time I hit the "end of turn" button. Resume Game should point to this file if this option is active.

This wouldn't be useful often - but I've had the game crash twice in ~24 hours of play, and it's a pain when it does. MoO2 had a similar tendency to crash on odd occasions, but its autosave feature made pretty painless.

James - the feature is already built in. When you start the game there is an option under "Game Mechanics" to choose the frequency of auto-save games. One of the options is every turn.

There in an autosave. You can choose how often you want it to save, every ten turns to every turn. It's in the setup before you start.

OK. I have conducted some additional research regarding (5) below (disregard #2, since I think they were firing half every turn - smart on the AIs part!). The Urban Pacification Centers ("UPC") seem to have a positive attribute modifier of 1,2 and 3 depending on the level. However, in the happiness .txt file, "good events" are actually denoted by negative numbers (I assume in order to decrease the anger level). I guess my question is whether or not the UPC modifiers should actually be expressed as -1, -2, and -3 instead. Alternatively, I was playing a neutral race and they appear to have very few "happy" events and a lot of "anger" events.
