Default Sign of a good game--and a question

I've got the demo and have played several times now. It was a bewildering beginning--I know nothing about ATC except a fascinating article about the controllers themselves in the Sunday Times Magazine years ago. Don't laugh, but I didn't understand that I had to tell the planes to do EVERYTHING. I thought they would head for their destinations on their own and I just had to keep them from hitting each other!
In fact, possibly out of frustration, I tried to vector two flights into a mid-air collision, and I couldn't even do that...
: (
Then I caught on, after several comments of "what the hell are they doing down there?!" (Maybe in the next revision we can tell impatient pilots to stuff it?) Since my epiphany, I have come up against the ten minute shut-down unexpectedly a dozen times: proof of immersion, I would say. Also, I love the opening--won't spoil it for others who haven't seen it, but I would add that you should wait a minute if you can hear the game but don't think it's loading correctly.
Question: the screen isn't "authentic," right? Our guys in the dark (are there any women air controllers?) aren't watching a nice topo map, are they?
Oh yeah, one other question: can we have a spell check on the forum like on the Combat Mission forum? My spelling sucks jet exhaust. I like the attachment feature.
