Would someone make a mod that takes out Nebulas and Black Holes? I tried Elwood Bluze's mod but it messed up the other systems in terms of number of planets... and I don't want the moons taken away.

If this isn't worth making an actual mod, could someone just explain in detail what I need to change in the files?

The AI doesn't handle Black Holes well, and the Nebula systems are just annoying... The asteroid systems are fine - especially later with stellar manipulation.

Modify the QuadrantTypes.txt data file.

Set The storms to zeron and Black hole type to zero and reallocate the 15 points to the other types. This should be the easiest fix. A better mod would be to remoce those types and chances and renumber the rest and make sure that the chances add to 100

Jason, Here you go. I modified the QuadrantTypes.txt file. I didn't change any of the exsisting quad types. I added a "Jasonian" quadrant type with no black holes or nebulae systems.

Simply put this in your Space Empires IV\data\ directory, and next time you start a game there will be a new choice in the quadrant setup screen.
