Scores, how to avoid MEE ?

now the TwinGalaxies Championship is over (is it really over ?), so I can ask my score related questions:

If my race has a score which is sharp before 500K, how can I effectively avoid to exceed this score (avoid to become MEE), just to strengthen my forces to be well prepared for MEE state? Fighters don't have an effect on the score, I guess this applies to satellites and troops too.

Shall I stop colonizing planets ? Scrap ships ? Stop Research ?

What has the most influence on the score ?

From what I have heard, the ships (& bases) contribute most to your score.

Therfore, go nuts on research, and retro/scrap your ships so that you have only a small number of Invulnerable ships.

The small no. of ships reduces your score, but the strength of each ship will compensate for the small numbers.

Also, spend all your excess resources on fighters, sats and mines.

All of your resource production, intel points and research points are added straight into your score. Your number of planets and population affect the score indirectly through their affect on increased production.

In older Versions of the game, your mothballed ships affected your score. Under the new Version, this is no longer the case. So, you could mothball your ships instead of scrapping them.

SJ's advice is very good. Pump all your excess resources into units--fighters in particular. In the early game, I think you are far better off building fighters than building storage for your excess minerals.

Do you mean that "Player can only view own score" setting ? I doubt that the AI won't see me as an MEE then...

I don't want to avoid the MEE state in general. If so, I would change the settings.txt for MEE. I think the MEE is a good feature , or should I say challenge ?

Thanx for the hints, I will put all my exceeding materials into fighters, sats, WPs and such tiny sneaking stuff before I accept the challenge of a psychic MEE .
