"can\'t unmothball"??
OK, I have, over the past few turns gotten "Our vehicle XX in system YY cannot by unmothballed because we don't have enough resources"
I've confirmed over the past 4 turns that I do, indeed, have enough resources - in fact, I have oodles and oodles of resources, far more than I need. The ships are already mothballed, and they are over a shipyard. I can see no reason why this would be happening. Anyone else ever see this? Am I just missing something basic (having unmothballed a lot in my time, I think not, but who knows...)?
ANy help appreciated,
thanks,
Alarik
EDIT: I am using 1.91 Stock, but it was happening before in 1.84.

Re: "can\'t unmothball"??
Are you doing any other retofits/unmothballs the same turn? You could be depleting your resources below the level needed for this particular unmothball, and then your new resources come in at the end of the turn after the unmothball order fails.
Also, you have plenty of all three resources? It's not failing because you have plenty of minerals, but are out of rads is it?
If it's not one of those two, I don't know. I could take a look if you want if it's not a game we are in together.

Re: "can\'t unmothball"??
Yeah, I've got massive surpluses in all three resources, and I wasn't refitting/retro on the same turn....
BUT, I was converting resources....hmmm...maybe I converted all of one of them away.
I'll not convert anything this turn and see what happens next turn. If I'm still stuck, then I'll look for alternative explanations.
I would feel pretty stupid if that';s what it was.
Perhaps in SEV there should be some "end of turn" reconciliation screen that gives any potential warnings of low resources? Or something....hmmm...
anyways, I'll check and see what happens when I don't do any converting...
thanks,
Alarik

Just experimenting with a few mothballs of my own and not finding a problem...

I can't help you with the problem, but I have seen it before (in PBW--ouch!). I've never had a problem in Sequential, just Simultaneous. I never was able to figure it out, either.

Oh yeah, that's it exactly. I'll almost guarantee it. The same thing was happening to someone here but their retrofits were failing. Turned out they had a planet stuck on repeat orders doing resource conVersion. They didn't even realize they were doing it.

Re: "can\'t unmothball"??
When I saw 'mothballs' in the title of this thread I thought it was going to be a discussion about retro gamming, I was wrong.
You fooled me and it's not even April 1st yet.
Cheers!

Re: "can\'t unmothball"??
Yep.
I had a planet making fighters, on repeat order. It also had a converter.
So one turn I just stopped making fighters and made a conVersion.
A couple of turns later I couldn't retrofit. Didn't put it together and didn't think I was doing any conVersions as I had massive resources.
Duh, did I feel stupid after getting an answer from MM after having them examining the turnfile to see what was wrong!
A. conert all resources from one type to another on repeat.
B. get massive new resources from facilities and trade.
and in between trying to make retrofits.....
