New updated systems Name file
Due to a request by Possum and his help in locating.
I have added the Epsilon set of star names to the file. I had the stars listed by the arabic names but due to a few requests I have add the common names and greek names for a number of these stars.
Some of you (who know their star names) may notice that there may be 2 or more names for the exact same star. this is because I personally liked having both names. Since some of the names are in arabic, egyptian or greek, it gives the feel of some of the game systems having alien names to those of us who only speak english or only know the common name of a star.
Also, I began searching a number of the sci-fi shows to see if There were star names that they made up that I could add. So far most of the names they used were of real star systems. I have found four that are not and added them. I will complete this search sometime next week.
Also, some of you may find some of these names are of constellations and not of a single star. I added these because at these time they have not offically named the stars in that region.
this file does not address the names that are too long for the game. Please feel free to delete any of these names from your list or shorten them to fit the game. I am testing the max size at this time and will post a updated list with the longer names changed a little to fit the game. I have asked MM to increase the size so that the full names could be used in a later patch.
If I counted correctly, there is around 800 names in this list.
P.s
I have zosma (at the bottom of the list twice.) please delete one of these. This was an error due to cut and pasting of these names.
Also, As you look at the list you may see some names that look tike they are the same but one letter is missing or is swaped
I.e Wazen and wazn or Tarias and Tarais
these are not typos, there are actually two different stars.
Thanks Dracus

Re: New updated systems Name file
Nice Dracus.
You should move it up to the mod area. It will too soon fall off the first page here.
Sorry to be a pain, but I learned this the first time I made my list: Names like "Ophiuchi I and II", look like "Ophiuchi I I, I II, I III, I VI, I V, etc." when in systems with a lot of planets. It can get a little confusing if you have the planet names option turned on.
Just thought you might want to know. I think your list is cool. No offense intended.

Re: New updated systems Name file
the attached file which is SUPPOSED to be a zip(I have no clue how file attachments work on this forum) contains my own creation: a systemnames.txt file with the names of every city and town in the European Union as of the 1990 census reports(a total of over 3,300 names). Check it out and tell me what you think.
