AI Oddities
Just finished my brand new AI.
There's a slight problem, though. It starts as intended, researching and building colony ships.
After it has colonized every colonizable planet in the quadrant it stops, it continue improving new colonies, it also refits some colony ships it maintains as defence (I suppose) but it will not go out of the quadrant or try to build any other type of ship (and note that in any AI status colonizer is in the first slot, the lower priority rank it has is n�3).
And just another questions: it's an AI feature that if a research involves a lot of research point will make the AI to switch to reasearch it exclusively, instead of dividing points among other projects? When it reachs Ice Planet Colonization it switches off the divide points evenly and disregards the other 3 cheap projects in queue. This can be the cause of the "sit-down" attitude of the AI?
I'm testing it on TDM with Fyron Quadrant MOD installed to have a broader (and better) selection of opponents. My AI though doesn't utilize any MOD-only feature and unless the research queue any other data files is taken from stock SE4 races (I only modified weapons alotment in the designcreation.txt to match the AI research technologies). I crosschecked the files countless times, so no typos or more blank lines than needed. There are other SE4-only AI files in the mod and they are all functioning properly.
Any hint???
