Default scenario design questions

This thread is for questions about the actual design of scenarios' in WinSPMBT. If you're not sure if something is possible or how it works, this is the place to ask.

This question came up in another thread:

It should be possible, if one use the crew of the actual gun (not someother crew), but I don't know if it's possible to detach the crew from the gun before the game begins...?

I am afraid NO,

I remember that I wanted to do such a thing, but while you are in the scenario editor you can't...

...but I just got an IDEA!

ok, I have to prepare my gear for the camping so we will talk about it in a couple of days!

cheers,

SO how about a formation in the UN OOB called "Crew" with a single crew unit?

I think I'll add that to my UN OOB..

EDIT: test results
How to get Crew units in the OOB:

Create a new formation in the OOB and give it a Crew unit (249), buy as many as these as needed. and put them into the game.
Do not worry if the player hasn't got your OOB installed as the formations are only used in the purchase screens. so in the game screen the game is looking for unit 249, which is always crew.

Not sure I follow here, there's a crew in every OOB AFAIK..., if you want a crew buy a sniper and 'use change unit' to make it a crew.

Note that the crew will not recrew (man the weapons) of any abandoned gun or AFV. I think only the one crew that belongs to a gun/AFV will be able to recrew whatever gun/AFV that has been abandoned.

That is my understanding as well. Only the original crew will re-crew the weapon.

What if you assign it via the editor to the same formation as the gun though???
