Some spell buff questions....
Three questions for anyone who knows.
1. Do different elemental resistance spells stack? Ie- two different spells giving +50% resistance for a given elemental path.
2. How do two units under the effect of soul vortex effect each other (both allied and enemy)?
3. For a line backer communion- for the communion slave is the strength a buff determined by the magic level of the spell cast by a communion master, or is it determined by the path strength of the affected slave?

Re: Some spell buff questions....
1) No. Spells with the same effect never stack. Even if they are different spells. They do stack with items and innate abilities though. And items usually stack with other items not of the same kind.
1) Soulvortex does not differentiate between friends and enemies in any way. If you have two people with the same spell cast it next to each other then they would lose life over time but also lose fatigue. Might be useful in a communion if you have beefy slaves that also regenerates for some reason. Soul Vortex only heals half of what it drains (I think) but it also reduces the owners fatigue without reducing the fatigue of the one it stole from.
3) No idea. Probably the master. Not many self buffs scale with the casters power, so its not very important. Personal regeneration is the only one I can think of right now. And mirror images.
Edit: A quick test shows that the self buffs that scale, scale depending on the power of the slave, not the master. And no, theoretical extra slave levels due to numbers of slaves does not count.

Gaia's blessing (a hard spell to pull off) does stack.
In fact it's the only way to get the 100% protection...

That is definitely not correct. Perhaps you're thinking of the fact that resistance spells can boost an immune unit past 100% resistance or that they will boost a 50% resistant unit to 100% resistance?

What exactly spell do you think it stacks with? coz It doesnt stack with the AOE protection spells. (fire fend, thunder ward etc)
Also It doesn't stack with elemental fortitude.
yea the only way to buff a unite beyond 50 is if it has some natural resistances
OH and the rare case of high Air bless which for some reason stacks with thunder ward/ gaia's blessing. (depending on when you cast it) So you get your sacred units to 125% shock resistance

It's rarely useful, but the self-cast 100% resistance spells WILL stack with the various 50% resistance buffs IIRC, though I also vaguely recall that getting the AI to cast them both is a bit of a chore.

Re: Some spell buff questions....
Assuming these are not dumb questions:
a. Would someone remind the uninitiated what having >100% resistance means?
b. Is there a difference/such a thing as "immune" versus "100% resistant"?
Thanks.

Re: Some spell buff questions....
There's no difference between immunity and 100% resistance. As far as I know, there's no such thing as an 'immune' trait.

Re: Some spell buff questions....
The nice thing about getting over 100% resistance to an element is it gives you the possibility of casting protection buffs while still remaining immune to that element. For instance, the 50% CR from the appropriate resistance spells offsets the 50% cold vulnerability from marble warriors, leaving your typical cold immune undead or Jotun with a nice boost to protection while still remaining immune to cold.
