The only R'lyeh's and Ermor's that are ever banned are the LA variety. I don't think either are overpowered personally, but know I'm in the minority on that one. Most often I think they are both banned due to their pop-killing, and the feeling people have that it just makes the game less enjoyable all round.

The only nation that is sometimes banned in EA is Hinnom. Although they've been taken down a peg or two since you were last around.

And Ashdod are regularly banned from MA games. And they are the only nation in the game that can be justifiably banned IMO (even though I personally never agree with banning any nation)

Yes, in EA there def no need to ban ermor or R'lyeh. Hinnom maybe, especially in a noob type game(if this is one) where people will have more difficulty overcoming the advantages

Ashdod is pretty powerful in MA, but even they are fightable. Vanheim can be a heck of a pain for them if nothing else.
