Default Naval Guns

I can't seem to find the 16inch and large caliber naval guns besides cruisers and DD's for anphibious scenarios. How do I get them for selection?

Naval guns are only present in amphibious scenarios (the reason why they have their formations have their own specific sub-type), because really, when else are you going to have naval gunfire support?

AFAIK, not for amphibious scenario's in general, but only for amphibious assaults.

Edit: and only for BEACH assaults, not river assaults.

Also, next time knowing the nation you are refering to would be helpful. The reference to 16 inch guns points toward the US but you could also be referring to USMC and if we are looking for problems knowing the OOB is helpful.

You also say "anphibious scenarios" are you actually building a scenario or are you referring to a generated battle?? I honestly don't know how you could see cruisers and DD's but not the heavy stuff but without some hard info like nation and year it's difficult to say.

Also.....if you are building a scenario and you want to include naval guns but NOT a beach you do not need to use a "beach" map. All you need to do is press $ when building the map and input whos attacking who and you will get your naval guns showing up in the arty menu for the attacker. Once that is done the game will ask you if you want to buy landing craft for your troops and if you are creating an "inland" scenario you can press NO

I'm making a Omaha beach scenario, not the whole beach but from Dog Sector over to Charlie. I'll post it up when completed. So yes it is the US OOB.

You are quite right. To get the larger caliber naval guns you must have the map set to BEACH ASSAULT. Otherwise they won't show up for selection. I switched my map to beach assault and there were the large caliber naval guns.

Thanks alot for the tip.
