Babulon items
Ok, so the cloak of babulon lets you make peace with all the negotiable alien races. But what about the torc of babulon? Is it anything other than an item worth coins?
I certainly would rather see a specific item per race that will let you make peace with them, instead of a single item that lets you make peace with EVERYONE. Just my 2 cents.
But seriously, does that torc do anything?

Re: Babulon items
I've had the Torc and it doesn't do what I think it should do with the Urluqai. Is there something more then just having it in your cargo hold?

Re: Babulon items
Did you meet a Deep Hunter while you had the Torc?

Re: Babulon items
In case it isn't clear enough yet: the Urluquai Deep Hunter is the only enemy vessel type with a cloaking device.
Urluquai Deep Hunters only appear with your enemy strength set to more.

Re: Babulon items
im pretty certain that i have seen them with enemy strength set to normal, on a large map.
but from what i understand from the mod forum over at Infinite Space Federation, inreasing map size (with the standard distribution file) increases enemy strength by the same amount as raising the strength does. so small + more = medium + normal = large + less

Re: Babulon items
I've seen Deep Hunters in most "Normal" enemy strength games.
