Broken links in Online manual
Anyone know how to get the .bmp status icons
and resource type icons to show up in the Online manual? They appear as broken links. However, the .jpg files display fine.
Also, I've installed and uninstalled a number
of times yet the game always thinks it is
not installed when trying to start with autorun when inserting the CD.
Thanks.

Re: Broken links in Online manual
Here is a quote from MM site (troubleshooting):
quote: 9. Everytime I put the SE4 CD into my CDROM drive, the install program launches and ask if I want to install. How do I prevent this?
Holding down the <shift> key while closing your CDROM drive will bypass the auto-run.
OR
Among other ways one can use TweakUI to disable automatic data/audio CDs. Do a search at www.winfiles.com for the file.
OR
If you want to permanantly disable Autorun, right-click on My Computer. Go to Properties, click the Device Manager Tab. Open up the CDROM section and double-click on the drive you want to do this to. This should open the properties for the drive. Go to the Settings Tab and turn off the "Auto Insert Notification".
I have looked at those icons in the manual and can see them without any problems.

Re: Broken links in Online manual
I have the same problem with the .BMP icons not showing up in the Online manual. I manually converted them to .JPG files and manually updated the HTML to match.
I don't know what browser you or Daynarr are using, although I'm sure that would make a difference. I've got Netscape 4.75. One would think that a .BMP would be a file type that Navigator would already know how to read, eh?

Well, I use MS Internet Explorer 5.5, and I agree with you that browser may be the reason for that problem.

Re: Broken links in Online manual
I can confirm this to be a browser problem. I have both IE 5.5. and Netscape 4.76 available. In IE the links are fine, in Netscape the links are broken. Netscape is unable to display the BMP-Files.

Re: Broken links in Online manual
I've had similar problems with certain web pages; in particular, I have to use IE to look at e-cards on the Hallmark website.
Micro$oft did some weird things with HTML, Java, etc. It's likely that MM (or Shrapnel) used an IE-centric HTML editor to create the manual, hence the problems using Netscape to read the manual.

Re: Broken links in Online manual
As regards the Auto-run, you shouldn't have to disable all Auto-run features for a single CD. It's a bad autorun program on the SE4 disc. However, I'm still waiting for mine (supposed to be delivered today!) so I have nothing to do but complain at this point!

You are right about Auto-run, JeffG.
The easiest solution is to just hold 'Shift' button while inserting CD. Also CD is not required to be in CD-Drive while playing, so that shouldn't be much of the problem.
Btw. you can put in some audio CD and listen to some music of your choice. Also, MP3 music works too, but it will silence all the sounds in the game.
