Re: I Make Ships
They are beta images. They are basic at this point. I am thinking about using them in one form or another for a new ship set.
I am getting bored with DOGA and want to learn Moray and Povray. I have them both, and have worked through the first few tutorials of Moray a while back. I just had a lot of negative things going on in my life back then and could not dedicate the attention required to learn them.
DOGA is much easier to learn, but is very limited. I could make new shapes for DOGA with the expansion tool, but it too is kinda hard to learn. I have actually made a few parts, but they all look like crap.
I want to be in a position to produce Star Trek and other ships for Star Fury and SE V if I can. And as Kwok has said, that might be easier said than done.

Re: I Make Ships
Nice look, and even very nice color IMO. But could you make them a bit smoother around the edges, when seen from the side? Reminds me of old car designs from the 50s - nice, but too old for a SciFi game

Re: I Make Ships
very nice, and i like the hard-edged look. it does remind me of old muscle cars, or old Korean War era dog-fighters..
im just not sure about are the wings. i know there have been lengthy discussions about wings in space before, and before anyone starts, i already know all the arguements. Its just that if they are going to be there, maybe they shouldnt be so thin and flimsy, to suggest that they have some purpose besides aesthetics or aerodynamics?
also, im not sure about the red bump on the front. im not sure if it reminds me of a clown nose, a pimple, or a nipple. either way, it makes me worry. maybe if it was a sharper cone, instead of a bump on a dome. or maybe if it was a rectangular protrusion, like the other red bumps.

Who says all space ships have to be curved? That gets boring after a while. Variety is the spice of life!

Re: I Make Ships
Hrmm... none of those things bother me. The only thing I would say is the surface of the ship is to me a little lacking in texture... just a slick slippery blue. My eyes just don't like that for some strange reason that I cannot really define. I like more texture.
I really like them though.
And as was said. What does a space vehicle need with curves? What does it need with a textured surface for that matter either. Just a preference of mine.

Re: I Make Ships
The color and texture of the ships kinda make me think of a spacefaring race that was originaly aquatic...just my opinion...but either way, i like the ships.
