Intel Ideas
I was wondering there are a lot of free spaces for buttons on the side of the intelligence screen. And i thought why not have a divide intelligence 75%/25% screen. Theres times where i want to put a major offensive project into action but keep my counter intel funded. I doubt there will be another patch but maybe an idea for SEV

Re: Intel Ideas
Are you perhaps assuming the old intel rules are still in place? The ones were you had to put points into a counter intel project every turn in order for it to work? This is no longer the case.

Re: Intel Ideas
Prior to gold patch X (I have no idea when it was; the change caught me by surprise), you had to spend points in a turn in at least 1 CI project for any points stored in your CI projects to be used for defense in that turn. But now, your points stored in CI projects will always be used for defense, even if no points are currently being spent on a CI project.

Re: Intel Ideas
If I understand it correctly, you must have some points stored in your CI project (amount matters?) and it automatically works no matter whether it gets any points during the turn or not.
CI level 3 has 500k points. Let's say I have 100k stored there. In this case I must be attacked by MORE than 100k of intel in order to get some effects. Right? Number of offencive projects does not matter? Just the amount of points?

Re: Intel Ideas
Yes, except that the points stored in a CI project block 1, 2, or 3 times as many points of offensive intel projects (depending on level of CI project). 100k points in CI 3 blocks 300k points of projects. And then, there is a 20% bonus to CI projects, so that 100k points can actually block 360k points of offensive intel projects.

Re: Intel Ideas
Ok, so, how I understand intell is like so:
I have lets say 2K intel points in a counter intell 2 project, so therefore I really have 4k points.
Now, my apponent just completed a 5k intel project against me, since I only had 4k in defense it goes through and does damage.
Now, however, lets say may apponent only finishes a 1k intel project, it therefore is defeated by my intel project correct?

Re: Intel Ideas
so lets complicate this question a bit further. lets say i have a level 1 ci running then gain level 2 ci. rather than waste those points gained in lvl 1 can i just add a level 2 and have the points cumulative until i complete the level 1 and drop it. i already know you can have multiple ci's running at the same time, but are the points cumulative or does it only use the first one, or the highest level one, etc.

The best thing to do is let the points accumulate into ci2 as each intel point is worth 2.4 ci's in ci2
If you put points into ci1, they will only be worth 1.2 ci1's.
If you leave the ci1 project at the end of the queue (far right), then the ci1's will be used up first and you will be left with ci2's. This of course requires the "divide points equally" to be off.
Having "divide points equally" on should also work if you are under a heavy intel attack, but will longer to use up the points in ci1. But you will not get the full benefit as some of the intel points will go into ci1.

Re: Intel Ideas
I think CI points are used in projects on the right end first. Or maybe it was the left side, I forget. Either way, the points are used based off of the order the CI projects are in your queue. I think it is the right end first, working to the left.
ZA, no, you have 4k + 20% = 4.8k effective points for defense, because all CI points count for 20% more than they are, in addition to the level modifiers. This is still not enough to stop a 5k project, but it can make a difference in many other situations.
