Missing deployment phase in pbem
Hi, my opponent in a pbem game found a problem during setup. Since he's not registered to the forum I'm writing this on his behalf.
He setup the game and sent me the files. I purchased my units, deployed and sent him the files. At that point he would have been able to deploy his army and start the first turn but the game missed altogether the deployment phase and he had start with the units along the board edge.
Anyway we setup a new game and this time works. I've been told on another forum that the same problem happened to others. I've attached our files in case someone wants to look into this.
GBvsFR_00.zip contains the files I sent him after my purchase and deployment
GBvsFR_01.zip contains his save at the start of the first turn, his password is kurz
regards

Re: Missing deployment phase in pbem
I remember this happening to me too once. Very rarely though. Once in years is not bad.

Re: Missing deployment phase in pbem
There in might be a clue, are you sure thats what you did.
Might be wrong but sequence of events
Player 1 Purchase
Player 2 Purchase & Deploy
Player 1 Deploy
Start turns

Re: Missing deployment phase in pbem
That can only happen if he entered his password then clicked on " Quit Deploy" in error.
Just out of curiosity what version are both of you playing and was this a "full security" game?

Re: Missing deployment phase in pbem
It was a full security game. Mine is the CD version and he has the download version, both patched to 4.5
He had already the game installed and patched to 4.0 but since he has another pbem game in course, he made a separated full install to 4.5 in order to start another pbem with me.
Maybe he just clicked the wrong button, as Wdll said it seems a rare occurrence

Re: Missing deployment phase in pbem
I had this problem a couple of times when playing rookies at the Blitz. Think it's a very old issue/bug. AFAIR..
Player 2 Purchases & Deploys.. and then loads the turn (by accident or to check that it's working) before sending it to player 1. When player 1 loads the turn, the deployment phase is gone.
Does this sound familiar pecoragialla?

Familiar yes, I loaded the turn by accident before sending the files. So it was my fault.
