Clap need help with Tir Na Nog

Hi guys! theenemy here. I would like some strategy suggestions for EA Tir Na Nog. I've already started a SP game with them. My pretender is an imprisoned cyclops with E9 and F4. I took the fire bless to get the Sidhe lords AP up a bit.
I've researched Conj2(winemen and storm power) and I'm currently working on Alt to buff my recruitable thugs. After I'm done with Alt1 I'm thinking of going over to Const.(Ivy crowns and thug equipment).
I'm currently using firbolg as expansion forces and I'm soon going to face Fomoria
So, are these strategies any good or should I just start over? Would also like to hear thoughts on equipment for sidhe lords and Ri.
This is the 1st time I play as these guys, so any help is appreciated

I find Vine Ogres to be greatly superior to Vine Men.

Take a look at the Baalz guide for Eriu. A lot of it should apply.

In short, Sidhe Lords with Vine Shields and Frost Brands casting Bless, Barkskin & Mistform. Without regen from bless they'll be vulnerable so you may want to add Regen rings. Makes them more expensive, but still reasonably cost-efficient.

hmm, I guess you are right about vine ogres llamabeast. but I also guess that the bonus from ivy crowns doesn't apply to them. I'm gonna switch to vine ogres when things start to look ugly with fomoria.
I did not want to take a nature bless because of the sidhe lords/Ri's low HP. kinda a waste of points. how much do the rings of regen cost?

Unless it's been changed, the Ivy Crown does help in summoning Vine Ogres.

Ivy Crowns do work for Vine Ogres.

The regen works nicely with Mistform. If you're only losing 1 hp per hit, it doesn't take much regen to keep up. Without the mistform you'd be right. They'd just die before regenerating enough to matter.
I think rings are 10N. Experiment see how they work

Wow, that's good to hear Thank's for all the advice by the way. Only one more question. Wha't the best way for TNN to deal with Fomoria?

You'll receive few army advantages over Formoria as they have a lot of the same troops as you do. One good thing is that you can create a lot more glamored units.

Having a pretender with fire will allow for a couple of things. You can eventually utilize flaming arrows with your slingers for one. Heat from Hell in battles with your sacred units (reinvigoration 4 from your bless) is also a combination you will have access to later on. Even still, you have mages that can cast relief, which will allow all your units to survive the nasty battlefield enchantment.

I'm no genius, but as for getting regeneration on you Ri, well they are nature mages. You could just research personal regeneration and skip the ring entirely.

Taking a earth bless with this nation also makes you a reinvigoration machine. Your bless, plus relief, plus all the reinvigoration items your nation can naturally create means you troops and mages can stay strong in extremely long battles. Once it becomes feasible I would do my best to slow battles down to a crawl.

Good luck.

Check out the spell songs, they really make a difference. Also you should consider a Master Lich rainbow to fill in your rather poor magic paths.

The only Spell song I've been able to make good use of is the fatigue one (Soothing Song?). It's great for big battles. A handful of cheap mages spamming that will keep your battlemages going as well as a communion. But you need critical mass. It's not useful with just a couple mages.
It's also good for keeping the troops going, but trickier to deploy, since the range is limited and it's hard to keep the mage near the troops.

That's my problem with the other two. The morale one is nice, but I don't think repeated castings stack. It might work against morale drops due to fear, though.
Healing would be really good if you can arrange casting mages right behind the front line, but they rarely stay in the right place long enough to be effective.

If someone has better ideas how to use them, I'd love to hear it.
