Something strange occurred earlier in my SP game. I attacked a province held by non-pd forces only, consisted of:
- 1 Abysia Anathemant Dragon
- 1 Warlord
- 2 Humanbred
- 7 Summer Lion
My forces consisted of:
- Aella the Queen of Storms
- Nephele the Queen of Clouds
- 25 Air Elementals
- 26 Sylph
In battle replay, none of my Sylphs were present, this was strange. Then Anathemant Dragon casted Phoenix Pyre on turn 1. What happened next was that during battle replay, after my AEs slaughtered the Humanbred and Summer Lions, the Abysian started to rout with only the Anathemant Dragon and Warlord alive then. On my turn, my AEs slayed the Warlord, and flew next Anathemant Dragon and surrounded it.
Next turn, the Anathemant Dragon attacked futilely (he's surrounded, so couldn't retreat). On my turn, my Air Elements easily slayed him, then he went boom per his Phoenix Pyre, reborn a short distance from where he died, only to be killed again with all the firework.
After that, a message popped up in Windows pop-up fashion, saying "automeele: molesting the dead", and when I click the ok button, the game CTD.
Reloaded the game and checked the battle summary instead, it said my forces were beaten by Abysian defending force, with 26 out of 26 magic beings lost (my 26 missing Sylphs?), but the Queens alive. Going to the province, and yup, I didn't capture it, but my Queens and all 25 AEs appeared at the neighbouring province as if retreated (in retreat fashion because all the AEs are in garrison now, only one route to retreat). Rather puzzling. Checked my origin of attack (same place where they retreated to), and no Sylphs to be found. Checked my capital (making sure I didn't grab the wrong Air Queen), and nope, no Sylph either.
Anyway, just thought I'd share this. I suppose that Automeele error message may be an internal check of sorts, rather than a bug. Still, that doesn't explain the bizzare Sylph disappearance case. Perhaps they are related, i.e. triggering of the error message somehow caused the glitch... The "molesting the dead" part is rather bizzare/funny though
