If I remember, TNT wanted to sex-up and dumb-down Crusade to appeal to a wider audience. History shows this typically fails. Lemme point to another sci fi series that did that - Enterprise.

And they are just barely making the pick up list for UPN who's twitchy as hell when it comes to low-Ratings.

The thing is, TV series are no longer produced to the quality they once were.

Networks would rather commit to a mini series than a 13-episode trial run at the same time they refuse to hire writers guild people in favor of reality TV shows that are produced on limited, half-season runs of 12-15 episodes.

I despise hollywood for that and thier long line of made-for-oscar films that spew of boredom.

Hear!, Hear! Amen to that. But I'd settle for a longer run time than the 35 or so minutes that most hour shows seem to run. It's really telling on Enterprise, when they can't tell more of story due to all of that d$%m advertising they have to have. I wish they could go back to the 51 minute running time of the orignal show. At least back then, they weren't trying to run two storylines at the same time like they've been doing since TNG came out. That's the one thing I really didn't like about TNG. Give me one story at a time!!

this is why we need an easy to use, point and click program for making cgi movies.

Exactly, keep things with only one major plot. It's okay to have subplots, but make sure those plots tie directly into the main plot, and support it.

Trip having sexual encounters in the shower doesn't support the Xindi-Arc on Enterprise - at all.

Plus, what ever happened to ensemble shows?

I miss my westerns - even if they were horribly inaccurate and racist at times....

One of my favorite scenes is the opening scene in the western seven samuri? where the two gunfighter's make sure the dead *indian gets a proper burial.

* Yeah, I know indian isn't the right term, but neither is native american. I was born here, I'm a native.

I stopped watching Crusader when I realised the episode I was watching had the crew discover a spaceship with two alien government agents, who had captured the "alien" ship, and were on a mission to find the truth "out there" about their races secret government agreement with aliens.

Actually Narf, My most memorable western wasn't an episode, but a joke involving the lone ranger in the middle of the valley being chased by native americans from the north. He then noticed to the south there was another group rushing to meet him. So he turned west and yet another group was quickly advancing. Turning east, in hopes to escape proved to be futile with a fourth group closing the circle.

The Lone Ranger then turns to his faithful native american sidekick, Tanto (spelling?) and he says "I don't know who we are gonna get out of this one!"

Tanto replies, matter of factly, by saying "What do you mean by 'We'?"

I'll get started on that.
I figure it will only be several hundred million lines of code, right? I'll knock it out in an afternoon!
