Re: Patch to Deluxe 1.95 Available!
SFI removed the patch from their site after too many people who had the downloaded version (already 1.95) tried to apply the patch - anyway the forum moderator said another patch was due for d/l version, so I suspect another little patch is on its way.
MM mentioned in an e-mail that the start menu is needed for the Steam version, and that so in making all versions the same it got put in regular. However, he didn't reply specifically in reference to fixing the 'bugs' it introduced.

Re: Patch to Deluxe 1.95 Available!
So, steam requires the start menu, eh?
And all this time, it was supposed to be just a distribution channel.
I really hope the start menu dosen't screw up PBW.
And I hope we can get a command line flag to skip right to the game loading.

Re: Patch to Deluxe 1.95 Available!
MM told me that the startup screen was necessary for the Steam version and to be fair, you can press any button to move through the publisher/MM screens in no time. I told really care about the extra 3 seconds it might take.
He is going to fix the missing startmenu.bmp problem with mods for the next patch.

Re: Patch to Deluxe 1.95 Available!
Thanks for the update. I have downloaded the patch before it was taken off the site, but I haven't applied it yet. I think I'll wait for the next new patch, if and when it comes out. Actually, I'd prefer that Aaron concentrate his energy on SEV...
I'm grateful that the beta testers are pushing Aaron to make SEV a great game.

Re: Patch to Deluxe 1.95 Available!
I would prefer that Aaron spend more time working on SEIV at the moment since it is the game that is currently being sold by SFI.
Sorry Shrapnel, I really wish you guys were still selling the game... SFI seems to be having some difficulty managing things at the moment.

Heh it just seems they have this obsessive need to throw their name all over the game. As if people give a flying f*** who the publisher is...

Re: Patch to Deluxe 1.95 Available!
Err... I think it was MM's new setup starting with Star Fury (and yes, it had a Shrapnel logo during startup too) that launched this title screen stuff (well ok, it was also in SEIII too). Anyhow, having one little logo pop up is hardly putting their name all over it.

Re: Patch to Deluxe 1.95 Available!
The patch is back up on the Strategy First site now. Do you know if it's the exact same patch as the one that was taken down, or is this a new patch? It has the same version number, 1.95.
