Re: Interesting news.....SE V
thread jacking dogs!
Did you guys catch that MM says there will definitly be an unlimited tech tree? Thats so great! Unlimited research possiblities! no hitting a tech ceiling!
in SE4, there was a definite advantage to taking combat bonuses. always, in every situation. unless you had a talisman, and then defense bonuses were still good. Now in SE5, you could pump all the extra points into research and so long as you had the time to develop, you could potentially come out and wipe the floor of the toughest empire with your technological advantages.
it also will create the possiblity for an arms race that continues into the late game. instead of getting to an acceptable level of quality and then just pumping out quantity, there will be a continual need to research and retrofit ships!
im so giddy.

Re: Interesting news.....SE V
Funny thing is, I guess when you get too high up in the tech tree, the weapons start looking like something out of the Roman Empire... how would YOU like to design ships with Anti-Proton Beam MCMLXII's, even if they do 32,768 damage at 256 range?
(Or would that be xxxMMDCCLXVIII damage at CCLVI range??? )

Re: Interesting news.....SE V
I think you'll just reach a point where Star Destroying / System Destroying weapons will be as commonplace as APBs, and as easily reproduceable.
Now, if only Malfador will imput a Temporal Weapon that'll undo the effects of a Star / System destroying weapon (effectively rolling back the turn without affecting anyone else), then you'll start to really see some interesting tactics...

Re: Interesting news.....SE V
Geez, with the reaction every time a female does reveal herself to be not-male on this board, it's no wonder that any that stop by keep it a secret
Back on topic... SEV: I want. Then, after I get that, I want time to actually PLAY it.

Did I miss something?
I've read the entire thread and haven't seen any female revealing herself....
