and yes Atrocities, 3dsm is one of those programes that have so many cool and usefull things in it, you need a degree or somehting to be able to use it.
I tryed a copple of times, got halfway through the tutes in GMax and had forgotten the stuff from the first copple of tutes.
damn, I wish I had the time, concentration, and stickability to learn it.
btw GMax should be quite good for SEIV shouldent it? after all you just need a decent 3/4 and top shot of the model.

It only needs to be green if it is from Earth. Otherwise, there is no reason to assume it would use clorophyl to get solar energy, and so could in theory be of any color. The color of the ship looks great to me. Changing it would suck.

It reminds me of that green ship Sarris commanded in that movie Tim Allen did, Galaxy Quest or something. Man I that movie was fun to watch, and the Heavy was actually quite enteraining.

If you have not seen that movie yet, you should. Very funny.

Green may be plants, but nothing says organic ships would have to operate on that model. Actually, they likely couldn't (different light distrubution around different stars)

Having some photosyntheric properties is a good idea for organic ships because it provides lots of free energy. Just like solar panels on regular ships can provide free energy. The problem with different stars could be worked out by those advanced enough in the ways of biochemistry to make such ships in the first place. Just design your clorophyl-like substance to be adaptable to different light distribution.

Although, I am skepical that that would actually even be an issue, because there are many plants that can only live in certain amounts of sunlight (such as those that can only live in the shade created by the trees of a forest), and they still use the same clorophyl. Photons are photons, afterall.

ZeroAdunn made a shipset based off of the silvery/white ships in Galaxy Quest.
