Re: Hitting dominion 10
All of EA TC's mages are sacred.
Nothing "special" happens at Dom10, including old age being removed from sacred mages.
Dom10 happens all the time, in face I even start at Dom10 in some builds, and old age is still old age.
You said he's fairly new to the game, that's fair enough. Most people are prone to making somewhat bizarre observations early on in learning a game this complex. I know I thought some strange things for awhile myself.

Right, I'll try to convince him he's seeing things Thanks.
I thought it could be something recently added that I've missed.

Re: Hitting dominion 10
It's a good idea to ask, when things like that come up, because it's always possible something like that has been sneaked in. Our devs are devious geniuses with Ninja-like skills!

Re: Hitting dominion 10
It seemed unlikely to me, frankly, because it gave a huge advantage to dom-tenners, (and they already have an advantage by default), and made spells like gift of health or rejuvenation useless.
Another wild shot: the guy has seen some nature wizards and is confused by the old age postponment effect.

Re: Hitting dominion 10
Hitting Dom 10 in a prov does nothing folks, except set your dom up really tough. Is there any more need to discuss this?

Re: Hitting dominion 10
I'm pretty sure the cause of his confusion is the random N/F on TC's masters. He probably had a streak of extra F's when he started the game, now he's lucking out (depending on your opinion) with a bunch of N's, coincidental with his dom hitting 10.
Adept, it might help to explain path effects on old age to this mystery new player.

Re: Hitting dominion 10
It doesn't sound all that far-fetched as a specific benefit to Tien-Chi, though. Considering that they're a Nation associated with immortal heroes, long-lived sages, etc. I could certainly see Kristoffer or Johan putting it in as a funny little quirk...
What Pretender is he using, by the way?

Other than that I am playing TC in SP right now to play around with some things, and have been over Dom10 for awhile, with no visible effect. So, I can't see them doing it.

Re: Hitting dominion 10
Hello there, I am the new player in question.
Now i'm not saying "OMG THIS IS TURE" but rather, please explain why:
Mage1 is one of my many mages, aged at 275 (old age 295).
Mage2 is mage1 before he was brought, aged at 297 (old age 295).
He has done nothing but research in my dom10 home since I made him. I have not cast any spells and only have a sacred bonus of astral 5.
Thank you.

Re: Hitting dominion 10
There's a random element to the actual age of a unit. What is displayed on the recruit screen is not the age of the commander you will end up with, but a generic age. I'm not sure if it's a base age, an average, or just another random.
It looks like Peng-zi just got lucky on his age roll.
