Re: Map-in-Progress: Ye Olde Worlde
By submaps I didn't mean several zoomed in or boxed cutouts all on one big map, I just meant when you finished the whole Warhammer World map you could cut and paste chunks like Lustria or the old world itself into new smaller standalone maps.
A version around 150-200 provinces sounds great to me. Big but not too big.

Sombre: Ah, yes. I understand you now. It could certainly be done very easily that way! Although a setting like the Empire or the broader Old World really deserves its own hi-res map.

Ulthuan looks very impressive - I can't wait to have a game on this when it's finally done.

Re: Map-in-Progress: Ye Olde Worlde
Thanks Shovah. Here's a preview of Norsca and Araby:
Norsca
I can assure you the stronghold of Karak Drak, home of the Norse Dwarves, will be a beefed-up special indy province with some nice rewards for the conquerer. It's on the far eastern end of Norsca -- represented by the dwarf.
Araby
Lashiek, City of Corsairs, which can be seen sandwiched between the western coast and mountains will also be a special indy province.

This looks absolutely fantastic. Really looking forward to it. Once again, great to have you back Zepath (although I think you left before I was really active on the forum your mods have been much appreciated!).

Re: Map-in-Progress: Ye Olde Worlde
I must say I wouldn't mind playing MP on this one.. for SP it wouldn't really be my more than any other map.. but in MP you could roleplay a bit and that would definately make it fun..
Allied victories etc. good vs evil vs "neutral" obviously\
and the fun part would be if all could agree on who si good evil and neutral
I can imagine wood elves wanting to be in the good team but not really allowed and then while they are proving themselves by attacking skaven the harder core of "good" would just invade athel Loren and that sort of thing

Re: Map-in-Progress: Ye Olde Worlde
can I ask a question? How and what do you use for those mountains and trees etc (I read which programs you used) I mean to ask did you just copy past a lot of that or did you do it with fancy options in those programs.
And more direct what I want to know: if you copy pasted all those terrain features could I maybe get those files or whatever you use so I can use it to improve certain maps I made?

Re: Map-in-Progress: Ye Olde Worlde
I'm sure you have your own ideas for this, but I was just thinking, while we lack certain Warhammer nations at present (pretty much all of them in fact) there are a micture of vanilla and mod nations which would fit micely on the map, should you wish to make a single player scenario version of it.
Cathay = MA Tienchi
Ind = MA Bandar Log
Lustria = MA Ctis and Mictlan
Tilea = LA Marignon and north of it, Skaven
Norsca = LA Heim
Ippon = LA Jomon
Empire =
Steppes of Hung tribe (northwest of cathay) = Sauromatia
Ulthuan = Sylvania
Sylvania/Drakwald/forests of old world = Sanguinia and MA Pangaea
Chaos Dwarf realms east of old world = LA Abysia
etc etc
The warhammer world is crammed with stuff really. If you just look at the world map from the latest WFB Rulebook you can see soooo much stuff.
I suppose a 'Scenario' version stuffed with little extra bits, special provinces, indy forts and whatnot would be popular for SP play or roleplaying MP, then you could have a more balanced 'plain' version for pure MP.
