Re: polls
The poll idea has been rejected by Sharpnel, they say that they don't have the room.
Oh well we'll just have to make really long strings and take up room that way instead! Go figure!!!

Re: polls
No the problem is you request seemed to indicate you wanted some sort of poll software installed so you can run Polls.
If that is not the case what do you want?

Re: polls
Aussie,
You can use FreeVote.com
It gives you a way to set up polls without any software.
I use this site for a clan I run in Earth2025.

Re: polls
I'm in Pittsburgh myself, small world.
No, I haven't voted on the civil war thread, because I haven't made up my mind about it. It's an interesting idea, but I'm not sure I want it more/less than a lot of other things MM could also work on.

Re: polls
Richard,
I wanted Sharpnel to have some way for the players to run polls on this site, or via approval of a moderator.
I don't want to use a different site as this is the official site for the game.
This would allow the players to indicate, by voting, if they like something, such as a component etc, so then MM can, if he wants to, to include the idea in the game.
I know that there are a lot of heavily modified games, me for one, which would make it hard to run a player league or something like that, which would require a standard game to be used.
I asked for this as Cheewy027 "I think that's how you spell his name" is doing a poll on Civil war, he has to repost the poll results so they are at the top of the string.
Thanks
Rick

Re: polls
capn'q that sentiment is echoed by just about everyone who gives a low vote. They would rather have some other things addressed first. I'm not saying that MM should put this in right away. All I'm asking people to vote on is the concept; the idea of going through a civil war and if EVENTUALLY they would like to see it implemented.
Anyway when your good and ready I'll be waiting to add your (hopefully high) vote to the tally

IMO, pronouncing "way" as "why" would be more of a British cockney thing than a Southern US thing.

Spoken like a true american. Us Brits don't all talk like Dick Van Dyke in "Mary Poppins" you know. In fact none of us do. I think some Australians might use that accent though.
A cockney "way" would not be anything like "why". A really strong Midlands (Dudley / Birmingham accent) "way" might sound a bit like "why". Other than that I can't think of any UK accents which would sound like that.
I'm sure someone will disagree though=-)

Re: polls
I live in Texas and vist New Orleans, have been to Tenn and ark and N.C. S.C, AL. and Missippi. We all say way as in by the way.
Alot of the words, we actually pronounce a lot better then my friends from New York.
In defense of the Brits and Ausses. I work with a number of both and they say Way also.
