The file d3d9d.dll is being reported as a debug version. I've attached the dxdiag file.

it does not matter about the debug version as against the retail - I use the debug versions in development as I have the DirextX SDK installed.

However, if you are not doing DirectX development on that machine - installing the retail version may get you some speed, but probably not noticeable for this game (flight sims and so on may give you a few more frames per second in the retail version over the debug ).

I've attached a partial screenshot of the results. It looks to me like it will support up to 1680x1050 (if I'm reading things correctly).
As Don notes, you have no 1152x864, 1280x1024, or 1600x1280 video modes supported by your card, in any of the DirectX full screen modes (8,16 or 32 bit colour). 1024 by 768 is the highest regular windows full-screen mode you have, and then a jump to several non-standard 1600xXXX resolutions, like 1600x1050.

These sizes are noted in the manual, and are shown when you choose resolution in the game options programme.

Your wide-screen format monitor is probably only able to "do" 1024x768 in a format that will fit onto its "stretched" width WRT a regular monitor's "TV" format.

Cheers
Andy

Well, I guess that's it then. I appreciate all the help you two have given me on this issue. Also, I want to let you two know the game is absolutely excellent and I'm looking forward to WinSPWW2.

Sorry this didn't work out but you can play windowed mode ( which I prefer anyway ). One reason we provided both full screen and windowed modes was to cover situations like this. We're happy you enjoy the game.
