Re: A New Shipset in the Works
If you have sharp edges, masking would be good. For fuzzy ones, it would probably look better with no masking.
Either way, consistency is important. Don't mask just parts of it.

Just asking.. How important is to mask the ship portraits pictures of a shipset??

For minis, extremely important. Unmasked portraits look really bad in battles in nebulae systems, storms, etc., as they have weird boxes around all ships...

Re: A New Shipset in the Works
You can get the style tester from the Gold CD or from malfador. Place it in your races folder and then test them.
This is one of the best ways to do it. ALTHOUGH do not leave it in the folder when you zip it for uploading. The style tester is a large file.

Re: A New Shipset in the Works
New art! This time around its a Jonol Leviathan. I also have art of a World Eater, one of those ships the sizes of a Red Giant, but its just a big circle with a hole, nothing special, and not worth posting.
Keep in mind, this image looks 100 times cooler as a Bitmap.

Re: A New Shipset in the Works
It was originally supposed to be a Jonol upper torso "riding" on the back of a Leviathan. But Atrocity mis-interpreted my vague ramblings. I like this one, and since we are running behind schedule, I just said "Okay, it works."

What is this Aeons thing? Is it connected with your Legacies stuff or what?
