Yep 500 provinces and 20 neighbors each. With the mandatory terrain commands thats alot of lines. I hope there isnt an upper limit on .map file size since I was up to adding a dozen lines for each province with my scripts.
Also apparently something like only 27 maps can be listed for selection. Max nbr of maps are now 5 times higher. Do you really need more than 500 provinces or 20 neighbours?

Thanks Kristoffer, I really appreciate that. Ive also found that apparently either -T (text mode) or the --mapfile switch keeps the max number of maps from being a problem. I was able to start a game with the 39th map on the list if I specify it on the command line when I start the game. That will work fine for scripting.
Once a game is started can the map can be deleted from the host maps directory? I still have a vision of tossing random generated maps in and starting games from a web interface. I figure I can have 100 games running at once. I know that sounds like alot to people reading here but games can Last for months so if you wanted to always have a game open for signups then you would need alot of games.

Your asking ME? Of course I do. (no not really I guess). Do you think there is going to be a limit I will run into on the size of a .map file? You KNOW I can hit that limit if there is one.

Re: Maps you want others to Make (edited subj)
Well I'd like to see some kind soul with more talent & less laziness than myself come up with some maps based on popular alternate realities: Middle Earth of course, maybe the Young Kingdoms, Glorantha, Dying Earth, or anything really (if anyone's even heard of the Last 3?)

if you could implement one way neighbor, now that would be cool. I could add timed renforcements with that.

Re: Maps you want others to Make (edited subj)
Pocus,
When will you make a Dom2 Version of the Melnibon map ?
I would really enjoy some "multi planar" maps as Gandalf spoke of, like Dom1 Hollow world was.
I'd also be interested in Dom2 Version of some other good'ol dom1 maps : Cirlani, RealmWars.
Is there a simple method to convert Dom1 maps to Dom2 ? I suppose the tga has to be redone, and I have absolutely *no* skill or talent for that ..
