The fireproof safes are good if you get one rated high enough. My dad had one, and it was great. Just got to remember when buying, you get what you pay for!

Every time the computer crashes and I reformat the HD, I swear that I'll always make backups....
So far the backups isn't taking up very much storage in my home...actually there are no backups.

I have very little stuff that needs to be backed up. All my backups currently inhabit one ZIP disk, and most of them are there to save me the hassle of downloading them again.

You can always store some up your back-up disks at some family member's, or a neighbor's house. That will go a long way toward solving the fire/theft problem.

Everthing I've d/l for this game I'll put on a cd-r/w disk before I put it on my hd. Unfortunately, I haven't made copies of those. So if my place burns down, then I'll lose those disks. I could make a copy of the disk and give it to my sister-in-law to keep with her computer stuff, but I'm afraid of what my niece and nephew might do, as they have disk scattered all over the room where she has her computer. But they're moving, so I hope the kids won't be able to get to the disks so readily.

Try Ghost, you can reload the whole system in 5 mins.

I made an image once, but found that I had changed what programs I use so much that I didn't want to use the image....

Well, at work I back up my stuff about once a week. At home, I hardly ever back up. A long time ago, I used to back stuff up on floppy disks. It was a good thing I did that because a few years ago, both my computers got stolen when someone broke into the house. I still have my data because of those floppy disks. But now with file sizes getting bigger, floppy disks are just too small. I don't have a CD burner so I don't have a good way to back stuff up. Maybe I'll buy a flash card reader and a bunch of 256-MB flash memory cards or something to back stuff up on, I don't know yet. Or I guess I might get a CD burner.
