Re: how do know about StarWars?
I have a question.
Will the new movie, yet unnamed, suck as bad as the Last did, or more so?
Possible Names for Episode III
Lucas Demise
Horrible Story
Anikan Who
Anikan Becomes Vader
Vader is born
Attack of the Sith * hell that would have been a good name for Episode II which was horribly named.
Seriously:
Fall of the Jedi
Birth of the Empire
Sith Power Play
Rise of the Sith
Hope Lost
The Rebellion
Did you know that Chewbacca (original actor) will be in the next movie?
That the dude who played Jango Fett is coming back?
That Sam Jackson has already filmed his death scene, and says: "And I don't go out like a punk neither!"
The question is, do we trust Lucas to impress us or dissapoint us? I liked parts of PM and felt that Liam Neeson was the only thing that gave the move some credibility. I utter disliked AOTC. From the name through the acting. The only good part of the move was the Last 10 minutes or so.

The screenplay for AOTC was a bit contrived, same as PM, but that wouldn't have killed it by itself. That kid who played Anakin in AOTC killed it. He was a horrible actor. I started to call him "Darth Whiner". Natalie Portman was, let's face it, just window dressing/eye candy. Nothing to that part at all, so there was little to screw up. But the transition from Anakin to Vader (ostensibly the entire point of this trilogy) couldn't be screwed up, if the series was to work. But George-O did screw it up, in choice of actor(s), hack scriptwriting and lame tie-ins, overemphasis on supporting actors, ad infinitum ad nauseam. And given his dictatorial control over this process, I see little hope for salvaging the third installment.

Re: how do know about StarWars?
AOTC wasn't that bad. It was a million times better than TPM and comparable to the classic trilogy.
Dialogues were never the strong point of starwars movies.
Many of the complaints about bad actors are about Jedi who look cold and emotionless, but Jedi are supposed to be cold an emotionless.
Now when repressed emotions of a badly trained padawan come out, they will not be in a nice theatrical way.
Hayden did a great acting with the poor character he was given.
Actually TPM would have been much better if he would have protrayed Annie from the start, plus a little less focus on Jar Jar. It would have also been nice to see more of the beginning of the separatist movement, the events on Naboo should have been more directly linked to that to make the story more consistent.
Overall the worst downfall of these prequels is not the acting, it's not the small contradictions in the story, is that we know how everthing is goint to end up, and Great George didn't find a way to make it thrilling anyway. Even if there are a few surprises along the way, we know what will be important in the storyline and what's a mere distraction.
I'm glad the GL is willing to do the movies his way even if he loses money (what he's not). I'd hate to see the awful changes in the established storylinewe've seen in some other sci-fi.
It looks like Episode III is going to be a great movie. Hey it starts with a war in progress. A few great battles, close some of the loose ends from previous episodes, final battles and the rise of the evil Empire qe all love, it would be hard to screw it up.
And Iansidious, here's the answer to your question taken from the CUSWE (not the funniest way to find an answer, but effective).

Re: how do know about StarWars?
I agree, AOTC was a lot better than PM.
I think Empire Strikes Back was the best one out of all the Star Wars movies.

Major ******* ? No, Major Arse Hole, was wing man on the right, the wing man on the left was Captain Gelo. His sons name was Bilo. His Tie fighters call sign was Black Death, and he was known by the pilot name of Black Scorpion. His Last dog fight in volved 23 rebel X-wings. He destroyed 5 obtaining his Emperial Ace ranking and the Emperors Dark Star of Valor as a result of that battle. The day of the Rebel attack on the Death Star, he has stayed up all night partying with his fellow pilots, as he was scheduled off for the next few day, but being one of Lord Vaders premier pilots, he was called up and subsuqently was killed.
