Re: Aksum -Glory of Kings.
I'm inclined to chime in with lch here. When every other post is junk I do not bother with looking at your sprites and just get a bit annoyed and scroll down to the end. If your sprites were collected in some kind of collage I would probably take a closer look and compare them and appreciate them more.

Re: Aksum -Glory of Kings.
HB,
Make a single, large (530x460), blank image and copy/paste your units into this image. By doing this, you can fit an estimated 10x10 or 100 unit images. I have attached a blank png and it is only 879bytes.
The size limit for png on the forums is somewhere around 48KB so file size should not be a problem, but the way you are doing it now is not good.

Re: Aksum -Glory of Kings.
That's what I'm having a lot of trouble with, actually getting that image into the *body* of a post-I asked for some help on this a little while back, and never got a satisfactory answer on what code one actually needs to type in, to make it show up. I've read the forum explanation, and it doesn't seem to work. I'm just not getting the hang of it, and I've invested hours into trying to make it happen. I need an "posting images into posts" course for dummies.
If someone will please work with me on this (someone patient with idiots), I'd be more than happy to clean this thread up! I don't like it as messy as it is, but this has been the only way I know to get my stuff out there for everyone to see.

Re: Aksum -Glory of Kings.
1. Hit the "Post Reply" button, or click on "Go Advanced" in the Quick Reply box
2. Hit the "Manage Attachments" button under "Additional Options"
3. Upload your files, one at a time. You can upload as many files as you want. Yes, more than one.
4. Write something
5. If you want to control where an attachment is placed in the post then click on the paperclip. You'll be presented with a list of uploaded files. The attached file you select will be inserted at exactly the position the cursor is at at that time. If it's an image, it'll get displayed. Even if it's a BMP image, I checked! Unused (not inserted) attachments will be appended to the end of the post.
I think that's all there is to know. A collage where all the stuff is shown together in the first post would make sense, too.

Re: Aksum -Glory of Kings.
Thanks for your help, Ich!-I followed your instructions up to #5, but there is absolutely *no* paperclip anywhere to be found. Atleast, I'm not seeing one anywhere.

Re: Aksum -Glory of Kings.
If you want to display a big attached image then you need to do it like Ballbarian and I did here.
After you are done uploading, right click on the image filename in the "Additional Options" / "Attached files" menu below, copy the image URL to the clipboard and paste it when inserting an image (the landscape icon).

Re: Aksum -Glory of Kings.
Ohhhh....! Ok! The problem was, I had my preferences set to Basic Editor. You have to reset it to the most advanced version, in order to get the little paperclip to even show up. Even if you go into Advanced Editing-and you're still in basic editor-it won't show up.
I feel a lot less stupid now, and can simply focus my ire on the new forum setup, where it properly belongs
Thanks again, Ich! I just wasn't seeing what you were seeing, and by showing me that, I finally figured it out.

]Let's see if this works now...If it does, I'll just put these all into the main post, and let you nice monitors clean up the mess I've made. My latest, Bahr Negus:
Woohoo!
Ok, now to get everything together in the main post...

Re: Aksum -Glory of Kings.
I have to apologize to HB, apparently the forum DOES auto-convert pngs to JPG data, maybe based on filesize. Then again, it should do the same to bmps.
