Its: British AntArctic Territory.
The British Arctic Territory Flag Hoax are very funny (probably only an urband legend) All territorial claims made on Antartica is disregarded and unrecognized by the world.
Therefore, I won't list the British Antarctic Territories there, just like I won't list Adelie Land, or Dronning Mauds Land, whatever the heck that is. Ok first off Clay Moss is full of ****! This is what I mean by less than honest people posting something that is utter BS and then people "think" its a true story. No government ever contacted him asking for verification and the US government NEVER added his flag to anything other than the waste paper basket.

Re: not a SEIV Olympics thread anymore
tech trading/intel whatever I think should be allowed and 'colonize own planet type only' should not. Hey, we are trying to create a team game not another individual challenge. That was the initial idea. For Individual games we already have KOTH. For an individual play in a team - we have an ordinary SEIV game in a Partnership alliance. Here we wanted to try a team only game where the team chooses one person for diplomacy, one for research management, one for defences etc. I agree that there would be plenty of micromanagement but that is possible (or you could turn on the ministers ). I still think we need a team game and making it individual is not the olympics idea.

Re: not a SEIV Olympics thread anymore
Pablo, no offense but "Olympics" has the connotation of an event rather than a single game. The olympics have many solo games as well as team events. Of course I was just making a suggestion and you all are free to use it or not.
Atrocities, that seems like a lot of anger over a simple little internet hoax that happened years ago. You didn't get suckered into a BAT resort timeshare or something did you?

Re: not a SEIV Olympics thread anymore
Pablo
I am not sure I understand.
Would You and the rest of Team Lithuania like to play against one team made up of players from the same nation using your Game Specification?
or
Would like to pursue the "Olympics Theme"?
or
Both?
I intend to go forward with the Olympics theme and will be happy to GM a single game between you and another team.
Ofcourse Team Lithuania would still be welcome to partisipate in the "SEIV Olympics"

Re: not a SEIV Olympics thread anymore
My Concept for SEIV Olympics
I see this as a very long term event where
1. Personal and national politics are set aside
2. Personal negative feelings toward other players are set aside
3. Teams are made up of players from the same nation or region except where there are not enough players available from that nation.
4. The games consist of a variety of enabled and disabled features. Some of the disabled features may be via rules of the Olympic Convention . The games will also use of various mods.
5. Scores will be applied as objectively as possible to each game.
I am open to suggestions for and help with every area. I am sure the above is over simplified. I am willing to step down from this position if there is sufficient concern about my neutrality or competence.
Regarding personal and national politics. Friendly Cheering is welcome. Flag waving is welcome. I hope I do not have to spell out what is not.
Regarding personal negative feelings toward other players from your nation or another. You are required to put them aside or even better let go of them. Life is too short.
I will have no qualms banishing people from the games for violation of the above.
Regarding team composition. It may be necessary to combine players from different nations for larger team games while allowing them to represent their nations in solo or smaller team play.
Regarding what the games will consist of. I need suggestions here. I am thinking of
Very Generic
Rock Paper Scissors Mod
Using Grid Maps
High Tech Starts,
Low points, high points, Map on, Map off
Regarding score keeping. I will need some help here.
Regarding a web page. I can give someone the ability to maintain one or if people do the pages I can upload them.
Ideas? Anybody?
