Scenario - Beachhead Taiwan
Well it's finally happened. The Peoples Republic of China (PRC - mainland China) has invaded the Republic of China (ROC - Taiwan). After a certain amount of foot dragging on the part of Congress they finally voted to uphold the Sino-American Mutual Defense Treaty.
Due to the astounding number of AA units the PRC has moved to Taiwan, and pre-existing SAM sites on the mainland that cover Taiwanese airspace, the Air Force is unable to interdict PRC movements to the battle area.
Aircraft and helos have a ceiling of 1000 feet, any higher and they're vulnerable to the SAM threat. Since the only time the Air Force flies below 1000 feet is on take-off and landing they say ground support missions are impossible. Marine Air has a betting pool for whoever comes back with the most vegetation stuck to their aircraft. I put $100 on Lt. Foss.
Get ashore, deploy for and defeat the PRC counterattack.
PLAYTESTERS NEEDED !
Yes, it's another big, long, complex scenario

Re: Scenario - Beachhead Taiwan
Note:
The revised USMC OOB included in the above scenario is 100% compatible with the default OOB.
It includes changes/corrections that should be in the 2016 WinSPMBT patch (assuming Don OKs them).
Major changes:
LOTS of new LBMs from the 2015 patch used.
Corrected ammo load-outs and ROF for 120mm mortars.
Removal of TI equipped squads and fire teams.
New MARSOC units and formations.
Changed F-35 ammo load-outs.
Shorter stand-off range for some LGBs (the actual laser guided vice GPS guided variants).

Testing the scenario.
A good deal of the force has landed. One victory hex taken on the beach,no shots fired.
Screenshot zipped.

Re: Scenario - Beachhead Taiwan
Thanks!
I'd appreciate knowing what turn and what portion of the map you actually encounter significant PRC forces (company size+).

Re: Scenario - Beachhead Taiwan
Turn 4- Had contact with a single PRC vehicle, which was removed quickly. South of the west bridge on the river. Lots of forces coming ashore. More have appeared in the ocean.
Couple of screenshots showing destroyed enemy vehicle and some recently come ashore light vehicles.

Re: Scenario - Beachhead Taiwan
Thanks for the scenario Suhir. Given 90 turns dunno if I can finish it but I've got a question before starting:
Scenario notes say the LCM's can sail up the river into the lake. What about the other craft (LAV's, AAVP's, etc.)? Are they all supposed to be able to pass under the three bridges along the way? Thanks.

Yes.
But you'll find the AAVs/LAVs move faster on land.
The point is the LCMs can move ONLY on water, thus need the river.

Enjoy it while you can, deploy your forces where you think the PRC will attack, and keep a rapid reaction force in a central location.

Re: Scenario - Beachhead Taiwan
Turn 7- Encountered a couple PRC garrison sections. Lost a marsoc cycle , however the sniper and 2 gunships wiped out that garrison.
*See hex with fire burning.
A second garrison is north of the lake.
