I agree. I changed the thread to recruiting again. Hopefully, we will get our final player in no time and we can start.

I don't have a ton of experience, but I'm not a terrible player. I'd like to play as Shinuyama if you'll have me.

Sure, welcome. Go ahead and upload your pretender and let's get this thing started!

So, I hope everyone is having a good game so far. Since we are getting close to turn 10, I thought I'd ask: Would you like to keep the 24h turn schedule or would you want to increase it to 36 or 48 hours? Let me know your opinions.

If I don't hear a lot of responses, I won't make any changes.

I vote for sticking with 24 hour hosting for now.

I really find these game settings interesting. I dislike micro but I've never played in a game with so few provinces/player. Even a final showdown between two players would only involve each controlling a couple dozen provinces, which sounds very promising.

That was my goal. I really dislike games where you end up with so many things to keep track of, you just don't care anymore or you end up playing a very inefficient game. Personally, I think even an end game with 20-25 provinces under your control is plenty to keep track of.

I like having a lot of stuff to deal with, but this is fun too. At least I won't have to worry about my endgame strategy.

Same here. These settings result in the kind of limited gold/gems you'd have in a "poor" game (though I haven't played one of those). The difference is the low province count means you'll encounter neighbors very fast and, I would expect, have a greater chance of early conflict. That's ok, though: just have to factor that into your planning.

You're probably right about that (unless there's a lengthy stalemate/turtling phase). I'll be curious to see how high a research level the final players achieve. And to me this is another bonus as I don't like endgame magic/SCs as much as I do early/midgame stuff.
