Painful Experiences from Battle Turn Limits
I've lost another powerful SC because of the battle turn limit which KILLS.
The Story:
My fully equipped Golem fought a huge battle against 8 mages, 320 regular units and 150 undead.
His life started with 127 from gift of health. To make a long story short near the end of the battle he was at 9 hitpoints, cursed, horror_marked, weakened, limped, and crippled yet the enemy was finally routing! Then fear set into the rock solid golem heart as he recognized one of the fleeing enemies were also crippled. Turn after turn after turn he dragged himself towards the crippled enemy yet the distance remained the same. All enemy armies of Lanka yelled run away or your body and soul will be banished from existence by the mighty UNION.
The crippled units could not move fast enough as the battlefield timeline expired. Then the official UNION presidents arrived on the battlefield... declaring the violation of UNION law upon the two crippled creatures. The union presidents then opened a mighty blackhole above the battlefiled, magic beyond comprehension for any pretenders or gods. The crippled demon ogre pleaded for mercy and displayed his crippled body for the reason of his delay, yet he was the first hurled into a great blackhole which was opened by the UNION presidents. The pretender owning the golem begs for justice since his golem has clearly won a very close battle and deserves to survive. The UNION presidents laugh while sending the golem into the black hole as well. The UNION presidents fly away into the stars proclaiming, "We are more powerful than any pretenders or gods... and UNION law states no battles go beyond 8pm or the result is DEATH."
The pretender grinds his fists against the ground wishing for some type of change against these UNION laws.

Re: Painful Experiences from Battle Turn Limits
I had similar thing with Golem, He had Sickle, Krupp's Bracers, some other expensive stuff, 30D gems from Sickle, 1500+ kills, powerful heroic ability. He was fighting a group of 50-100 demon knights. And then he vanished at turn 50, without many scratches, able to find hundreds of turns more... of course enemy used the chance to steal 1 artifact from me.

That's a pretty thematic story, NTJedi! Good for you, finding the right rationale.

Sad and unfortunate story, yet amusing.

Condolences for your golem.
My crippled pretender didn't manage to run away fast enough from pesky Mictlanese lately. Too bad the only affliction she got was crippled...

Re: Painful Experiences from Battle Turn Limits
I too had a very unpleasant battle due to turn limit in my capital,
Niefelheim was attacking me with 4/5 of his whole army and 20-25 regeneration berserk Niefel giants ( there for never rout )
The strategy was darkness, skellspam , and a bunch of protection spells backed up with bane fire and some other evocation spells ( I was Helheim ). At turn 50 the regular army retreats with only the berserk Niefels left, and had the battle lasted another 10 turn more I would have killed them, but unfortunately my army started to retreat and with nowhere to retreat to I lost EVERYONE, and that was pretty much the end for me.

What exactly did that have to do with the turn limit? If anything, it helped you.

Re: Painful Experiences from Battle Turn Limits
All the provinces around my fort were captured, and I didn't have anywhere to retreat to after battle turn 75 when my troops started routing, and so I lost all my mages and my capital, and how do you mean it helped me?

Because their army arbitrarily routed at turn 50?

Re: Painful Experiences from Battle Turn Limits
Not all of them, he still had about 20 Neifel giants that were berserk and didn't rout, and I couldn't kill them that easily, they had a very strong bless, but I would have won in the end if my troops hadn't routed.
