Good low level equipment for assassins?

I am sure there are some great uber artifacts for the stealthy buggers, but what are some recommended items to give early on to your assassins to make them effective killers?
I am thinking Con 2 or Con 4 at the most.

Skull Talisman. That's all you need early on.

You can also give them any leftovers ... if you had made a Raw Hide shield for your pretender, but upgraded, then throw the shield on the assassin.

Don't spend too much on the gear ... it's easy to lose assassins since if they are discovered they'll probably die in the ensuing combat.

You know I tried a ... Thorn Staff, I believe. The two handed 5 nature staff that poisons. Worked surprisingly well. The defense boost it gives you is sizeable and the extra punch from the poison is great.

It depends a lot on what magic and gems you have available, and considering how often Assasins are lost to PD and the like, don't invest in more than one item.

Many assassins get killed in one hit. The pendent of luck can really help. And going against mages the pendent that helps you avoid a magic hit. And always the little skull thing.

The rings can be a biggie of course depending on who you are attacking.
