BUG: Pretender Cost Mismatch
Found a very annoying bug while doing the Dom3 DB:
Shapechanging pretenders that have different costs for their shapes may cost more or less points than they shuld.
Whether they cost more or less depends on which form is the more expensive. I've found two examples so far: The ***** Queen/Crone (401/402) pair and the Dracolich/Bog Mummy (644/645) pair.
With BQ/Crone, the BQ has a point cost of 60, but when you select her, it displays the crone form that has a cost of 40, so you only pay 40 points for the chassis. Not such a big deal for this pretender, as she is not so very great compared to some other choices.
It's a different story with the Dracloich/BM. Dracolich costs 50 points and you have to pay 100 points because the BM costs that much and gets displayed when you pick Dracolich. Talk about a ripoff.
Given the startdom of just 1 and the extravagant pathcost (80) for new paths, there is no way in hell I can see anybody using the dracolich unless it gets immortality for both of its forms. It just sucks that bad and the lone bog mummy costs only 110, is immortal, has a startdominion of 2 and a pathcost of only 40.
This needs fixing, stat.
Fortunately the other dragon pretenders do not suffer from this cost mismatch, they all have 80 points cost for both forms.

Re: BUG: Pretender Cost Mismatch
I'm all for dracolich being immortal and costing more-why should all dragon Pretenders be created equal?

Re: BUG: Pretender Cost Mismatch
Edi, I agree and will incorporate a "fix" for the ***** Queen and Dracolich in my Nova Deus II mod and upload that in the mods sub-forum.

Odd, bog mummy costs 110, but dracolich costs 100 like you said but claims to cost 50. Bug, Bad.
Is niefel/jotun/utgard the only one to have it available?

If it was immortal, cost 100, spending 590 points to get a dom9 A2E3D3 Dracolich might be fun. 540 hp in dom10, Airshield, invulnerability, mistform, soul vortex, shapeshange, attack rear. If you defeat it it's back for more next turn.

Re: BUG: Pretender Cost Mismatch
Mivayan: Bog Mummy (643) costs 110 points. Dracolich (644) costs 50 points. Bog Mummy (645, the laternate form of the Dracolich) costs 100 points, which you end up paying.
I generally do not post monster numbers just for amusement, but to express where the problem is. In this case it is with a shapechanging pretender, which the basic bog mummy is not. I wish people paid more attention to important details.

Re: BUG: Pretender Cost Mismatch
Yea, the problem is with the shapechanged forms of the various pretenders, not the standard monster that looks like the shapechanged form. All the wizards that the dragons turn into, for instance, are in fact different monsters from the "real" Frost Father, e.g. This problem has been fixed in Nova Deus II v1.22. Please make a not of it if you happen upon any other such bugs, Edi.

Re: BUG: Pretender Cost Mismatch
I will. I don't expect there to be a lot more of those, or any more of them, for that matter. Once I've gotten everything recruitable down, I'm going to start modding to amke the rest rcruitable, so eventually we will have the precise costs for everything. It'll just take some time.
