Speaking of air droppable armor...
Has anyone thought of modelling the XM8 MGS?

Re: Speaking of air droppable armor...
Nope - XM-8 Buford MGS was supposed to be light airborne "tank".
M-8 Buford MGS
M-1128 MGS is "just" a Stryker apc with 105 mm gun.
Too bad US killed XM-8 project . It was far better than Stryker MGS will ever be. Better mobility, better armor...

Re: Speaking of air droppable armor...
It is possible that XM8 isnt killed. Stryker MGS is not working as it should, so i think that Army will need something to replace Stryker MGS... and XM8 passed all army tests...

Re: Speaking of air droppable armor...
Thanks for the correction.
I remember that previous dos versions of SPMBT had the XM8 and not being completely au courant with US military plans, I thought the Stryker MGS was the same. I remember hearing the XM8 had been killed, but it slipped my mind last night.

Re: Speaking of air droppable armor...
Anyway, i'm not sure, but i think that dropping vehicles from planes ussualy cause some deaths of the crew... wich greatly decrease their combat efectiveness.

Hope you're joking.
M551 Sheridan is in-game, it worked(works in fact) just fine.
XM8 MGS is type classified and drops using the same system the sheridan does, it also works just fine.

Re: Speaking of air droppable armor...
As of last year the M8 has been tested with a hybrid electric motor, and was tested with XM291 120mm gun. With this configuration it is called Lighning Bolt. This is from the August issue of Jane International Defense Review. I think they should go with this instead of the Stryker MGS.
