Multiplayer Games
Anyone remember a game called Stars! for Windows? There was a web site for it that allowed players to play email multiplayer games that generally would be done by email at a turn per day.
Is there any web sites like that or players willing to do that for SE4? Keep in mind I'm not sure how it works yet or if similar to Stars! since I haven't played ANY multiplayer with SE4, yet.

Re: Multiplayer Games
Multiplayer options for SE4:
1) (best) Hotseat. Get everybody together and use one computer. Allows tactical combat.
2a) PlayByWeb
2b) PlayByEMail. More of a DIY type, but there are helpers available.

Re: Multiplayer Games
I love this game in Multi-player! The Play by Web is fun and EASY(even for me! .) The only problem with it (for now) is that it only supports Version 1.3 of Se4(not 1.35), the 1.3 patch I believe can be found at the site(if not, someone else can tell you where to find it). The PBEM helper does support 1.35 but does not support web-based email (ie, Hotmail), so turns must be emailed manually. Other than that it has been damn fun. There is also a few Groups at YahooGroups.com for se4 multi-play by email.
Hope this helps.
(and S_J, congrats at becoming a General!).

Re: Multiplayer Games
I not only rememer Stars!, I still play it PBEM. I even think the Stars! Autohost is still up and running although we're not using it with our current game.

And the bug that prevents 1.35 from working for PBW is expected to be fixed in the next SE IV patch.

Re: Multiplayer Games
Thanks all. The PlayByWeb looks cool, guess I'll wait to see if next SE4 patch fixes to what doesn't let 1.35 work I guess.
Thanks.
