How do you edit a unit \'unholy\'?
I really liked Targas Mighty Milita mod, which turns a few common frail units holy to expand their use, and have added a few more "infrequently used" units to it.
Atlantean spearmen, Slingers, unarmored Mictlan Warrior, unarmored Satyrs, Machaka Militia have been turned into holy units. But when I tried to make the Ermorian Preatorian Guards (who I never found a reason to use) unholy I sort of ran into the problem that it takes more than simply an #unholy command.
Anyone know how to turn a unit unholy? Is it a bad idea to turn a non-undead unit unholy, because of game mechanics? Does unholy blessings work on holy units?

The only unholy units I ever worked with were the ones with Pangaea, Carrion theme. They dont get the bless spell since they get special magic for the Carrion theme.
As far as making unholy, if it works like alot of other things in the game maybe you could try making them holy with a negative number

That would be a nice change for the Machaka Militia... right now they are one of the worst units in the game. The Machaka Militia are the province defense for Machaka and with 0 Protection they die instantly even from tennis balls.
Also the only holy units Machaka has are the really expensive Spider Hunters... thus making it virtually impossible to consider any blessing strategies.

Not sure if this would work, but you could try making them lvl 0 unholy priests.

Thanks Potatoman but that doesn't seem to work either. I guess there's no point in trying to alter the Preatorian Guards in this fashion. Anyone got an idea to beef this guys up a little without disrupting balance? Pondered giving them lighter armour and some kind of exotic weapon.

Re: How do you edit a unit \'unholy\'?
I've decided to give Broken Empire Ermor a holy priest unit to go with the holy Version of the Preatorian guard, now called Reminiscence Guard, but I hit another snag. Adding #holy doesn't seem to do anything when I add #magicskill 8 3. How do I turn the priest into a sacred unit?
#selectmonster 671
#name "Redeemed Custodian"
#descr "As the Ermorian Empire crumbled, in the face of the abyssal nightmare it had brought upon itself, it seemed that all hope for the living was indeed lost. But the few centurions still loyal to the people renounced their dark ways and turned to the divine powers for guidance. And though Ermor broke, oblivion could not claim it. Thus started the order of the Redeemed Custodians."
#gcost 65
#magicskill 8 3
#holy
#end

Re: How do you edit a unit \'unholy\'?
After some testing Last night I figured out what I was staring me right in the face all along. Ermor is an unholy nation. This means all holy units and priests lose their sacred abilities. Sigh... Still trying to make Satyrs a little more interesting.

Re: How do you edit a unit \'unholy\'?
Well I managed to finish my mod now. It sort of an expansion to Targas "Mighty Militia" mod so they are not compatible. I'm going to send it to Illwinter so perhaps it will be available to download soon. Comments are very welcome.

Re: How do you edit a unit \'unholy\'?
I just submitted another Version, 1.1, of my Empowerment mod to Illwinter. I made a lot more minor improvements to various units, such as removing trampling for minotaurs and giving a secondary weapon to some of the animals. I also lumped the changes of Saber Cherrys "Prepatch 2.073" mod into my own since I unfortunatly made it uncompatible with his.
As always I appreciate any feedback, but then again it's not really a very exiting mod to start with.
