Re: OT: Voynich Manuscript
BIG FISHY!
it would be neat to find a giant undersea creature - as long as it couldn't sink ocean liner's.

Re: OT: Voynich Manuscript
The Voynich Manuscript is old news. There are several dedicated sites with lots of information about it (including high-res pictures) and history of attempts to decipher it.
The bloop is much more interesting. Just discovered a couple of years ago, (or was it only one yar ago?) it's an enormous noise that would require a real-life 'Godzilla' sized creature to make if it's from a living source. More likely it's coming from a volcanic vent or a tectonic fault groaning but what the hey... you can daydream about giant monsters.

Re: OT: Voynich Manuscript
i don't think we have enough information to accuratly predict where we might be in fifty years.
note that i said 'might'. if we assume no scientific breakthroughs on the order of the combustion engine, we can make some vague predictions. so, with our current scientific knowledge, 100 years is very uncertain and 1000 years is quite out of our range.

Re: OT: Voynich Manuscript
What, the coordinates are slightly different that what HP Lovecraft gave. Alright, now either he got the coordinates wrong, or Cluthulu hasn't read the book.
