posting mods
I'm about ready to post a beta for a mod I've been working on, but have a few questions:
1) For the mod to run, do I have to include files that are identical to what you get with the regular game (eg, if I made no changes to happiness.txt, will the game try to look for the file in the regular /data directory, or will the mod not run unless the unchanged file is included in the Mod's /data directory)? If I do have to include it, does this hold true for all the unchanged art files as well?
2) How do you actually upload the files to Shrapnel?
Thanks,
-Spoon

Re: posting mods
1) Before 1.84, you had to include all the files in the Data folder, even those that were not altered. But in 1.84, all you need is the altered files.
2) Go to the main forum page, and there is a Mods and Scenarios section (the very first one). Upload it there in the SE4 Data/Graphics Modifications thread. Then, make a post in here (with a link to the zip file) about the mod.

Small comment to Imp. Fyron post: once you add a replay to race upload forum. "upload file" option willappear left of the text message. Click it and locate the file you want toupload. Since you have quite a few, zip them up and load as a single file !

Are you sure about this? I get errors if I don't include the Data folder files.

Hmm... it works if you include no Data folder. SE4 also loads up if all that is in there is the Settings.txt file.

Re: posting mods
Ah, ok. I had the formations.txt in the folder. That must have caused the error.

Re: posting mods
You have to select new post, or new reply to a thread, before the Upload File button will appear (and it ofc has to be in the Scenarios/Mods forum).
