Resouce Converters
How do Resource Converter facilites work? Do they automatically kick in when I run out of one resource? Is there a way to convert X of one reource to another each turn?
Thanks!

Re: Resouce Converters
When you have one built on a planet, select that planet. There will be a "Convert Resources" button activated for it. Or, hit ctrl+v. In this window, you specify how many of what resources you want to convert to other resources. There is no automatic conVersion; you have to give new conVersion orders every turn.

Re: Resouce Converters
The button for the resource converter looks like a mining cart filled with ore. This button will only be available for a planet which has a converter facility.
Also, you only need one facility in your entire empire. You can convert as many resources in each turn as you wish, as long as they are available in your storage.
I'm sure you will enjoy this game. Welcome to the forum...Greybeard

Re: Resouce Converters
Thanks for the replies! I've been playing this game for about a year and am now in 4 pretty serious games and the tournament. The PBW site is really great.
Thanks again!

The AI? No, of course not.

Re: Resouce Converters
That's a shame, you'd think the maths would be fairly easy to code. All you need to look at are the current levels of the 3 resources in relation to some threshold figure below which the AI won't let its resource levels fall.

Re: Resouce Converters
Yeah, this is a problem akin to the 'infinite RATE of supply generation' for the Quantum Reactor. Even if it can generate supplies forever, there really ought to be a limit to how much it can create per turn. Similarly, it's all well and good that the ConVersion Facility can change one resource into another. But surely it has to have a limited rate of progress? Another little something we have to persuade MM to fix.
