LCI (R) facing and indirect fire
I recently had LCI (R) units not fire indirect as ordered. I discovered that this was because they were not facing the direction of their targets.
Is it intended or a bug that they don't change facing? None had moved so they had the MPs to do so.

Re: LCI (R) facing and indirect fire
The icon used there is set up exactly like an SP gun so it need to be pointed in the direction of the target. I will investigate.

Re: LCI (R) facing and indirect fire
No, they will not fire unless they are manually pointed in the direction of the target. Not sure if this is a "bug" but we have put it on the list to investigate but really those things are meant to be under human control or at the very least if under computer control in a scenario it's up to the designer to point them at the target. The " problem " would have existed since this unitclass was put into the game

Re: LCI (R) facing and indirect fire
I created a scenario that RetLT is referring to. I left the units deployed on the map as is (normally they are pointed in the right direction by default, left or right). I'll take a look and see if I inadvertently pointed them the wrong way.

Re: LCI (R) facing and indirect fire
So I doubled checked the scenario and all the LCI (R) are pointed in the 'right' direction and s/b able to provide OBA onto the beach.

Re: LCI (R) facing and indirect fire
I had moved them and they ended the turn facing 5 o'clock. This prevented them from firing at a target at the top of the map.
It took me 2-3 turns to figure out why they were not firing.

Re: LCI (R) facing and indirect fire
And now fixed in code as well as adding an invisible turret icon, as that saves messing with OOBs to add invisible turret icon and invariably missing one! .
