Question Reaction Fire

From the manual I see that it's the best to:
- not fire it in your turn, thus preserving maximum opportunities
- not move it either, ditto
- if its suppressed, then rally it up if you can.

I wonder how much impact movement has on the amount of reaction fire.
I currently race over empty ground and wait for the enemy to appear, but if that happens there is usually no reaction fire from my tanks.
Does this mean that moving the max possible distance reduces the reaction fire to zero?
And if I move only half the distance I get at least the possible reaction fire?
Cheers

Try moving a unit from rest. As you move then available shots will reduce. Exactly how much depends on things like unit experience, presence of stabiliser etc. It is not rocket science - the available shots are listed for each of the units weapons.

The available shots are the guaranteed op-fire number of shots you will get, unless the enemy damage the firer, suppress it etc in his turn.

And also remember that opfire will only trigger at a decent hit percentage. So screaming across country bouncing away like crazy will reduce the hit chance. Perhaps enough that your unit thinks it not worth expending a round.
